Black Friday originated in the City of Brotherly Love in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1950’s and is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Many people get their pocketbooks ready and get in their vehicles and drive to the store early in the morning to catch the great deals. And of course, nowadays we have the internet so most people don't even leave anymore they shop directly from home. This eliminates getting out in the large crowds as it can get very dangerous sometimes as people have been known to get hurt. Some have even gotten killed by getting trampled over while fighting over these great deals. It is the day when the stores cut back on prices big time, some up to 50% off. The odds in Las Vegas for the Seattle Mariners to win the 2019 World Series are currently 20 to 1, while the odds for the Mariners to win the American League Pennant are 10 to 1. Don't tell that to the ultra-hot Mariners team, however, who aren't listening to the odds, their horoscopes, or the baseball historians that jokingly point out the team has not even been in the Major League Playoffs since 2001. Microsoft's Marketing Chief Has Spoken Out Against April Fools' Day Pranks-and He's Not Joking If you're a fan of Microsoft's products and/or intellectual property—think Xbox, top-notch PCs, and Minecraft, specifically—you're probably assuming that the company's employees and software developers, because their work is so difficult and centers on helping others to relax and have fun, will pull a prank or two during April Fools' Day, which, as always, is scheduled for the first day of April. Unfortunately, you couldn't be more wrong. As a matter of fact, Microsoft's corporate division has taken a decidedly anti-April Fools' Day stance.
