Square made 125 million on Bitcoin during Q2-2019 from its new Cash app, nearly doubling the preceding quarter. The payment processing giant posted a 832,000-dollar profit for Q1-2019 on a record-high 65.5 million dollars in revenue. This caps the current five-quarter run of steadily increasing Bitcoin sales at Square. What’s Behind the Numbers? The August 1 earnings report showed a profit of two million dollars from Bitcoin alone. Square attributes this strong number to heavy increases in trading volume for Bitcoin. Square's Cash mobile financial app brought in 135 million dollars through digital financial services, transaction fees and subscriptions. The costs of Bitcoin trading operations are listed at 122.9 million dollars by Square. That means the Bitcoin exchange accounts for 92.5 percent of the Cash app total revenue by itself. In the same showcase that highlighted the iPhone 11 series, Apple has confirmed the price model for its gaming platform, "Apple Arcade." After experiencing the platform for one entire month as a free trial, a subscription to Apple Arcade will run a monthly fee of $4.99. While many were wondering what sort of model Apple would use during the announcement earlier this year, the next issue is just how big of a gaming library the platform will feature; even $4.99 can be a big ask if the games are not that thrilling or intriguing. The New LinkedIn App Uses QR Codes and Offers Translation LinkedIn is a popular social media system used by millions of professionals and businesses for networking. It was reported that by the end of 2016 there were over 467 million LinkedIn members. The new version of the LinkedIn mobile app works with QR codes and now has a translation option that is based on Microsoft Text Analytics.
